How to Install eSIM on Android

Android phones vary, and eSIM settings differ by brand. But once you know where to look, installing your Simcardo travel eSIM is straightforward on any device.

Before You Begin

Quick checklist for smooth installation:

• Internet connection – WiFi or mobile data to download the eSIM profile
• Unlocked phone – Your device must not be carrier-locked. How to check
• Compatible device – Not all Android phones support eSIM. Verify your device
• QR code from Simcardo – In your email or account

Samsung Galaxy

Samsung has made eSIM installation fairly intuitive:

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Connections
3. Tap SIM manager
4. Tap Add eSIM
5. Choose Scan QR code from service provider
6. Point camera at your Simcardo QR code
7. Tap Confirm
8. Name the eSIM something like "Simcardo Travel"

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Network & internet

4. Enter the Activation Code
5. Confirm and wait for download

After Installation

Enable Data Roaming

Most users forget this. Without roaming enabled, your eSIM won't connect abroad.

1. Go to Settings → Network/Connections → Mobile networks
2. Select your Simcardo eSIM
3. Turn on Data roaming

Set as Default for Mobile Data

If keeping your regular SIM for calls:

1. Go to SIM settings
2. Set Simcardo as default for Mobile data
3. Keep your main SIM for calls and SMS
